History: Jian Kimura is the sole son and offspring of Daisuke Kimura and Adelheid Goldhalle.
Due to cultural differences, he was the consequence of a consummation that was renounced by both the Kimura family and the Goldhalle family, as Goldhalle, zealous worshipper’s of Rhalgr, took offense to the Kimura family flower, the Nymeia lily, and considered the Hingan unfit for Adelheid’s hand in marriage. The Kimura family had also disapproved of their romantic ties, as they considered the Ala Mhigan family to lack respect and hospitality to their shrine guardian, the Azure Wolf. Even though their marriage was denied by both the heads of the house, it did not deter Daisuke and Adelheid from continuing their ambitious work on building the longest trade route on Hydaelyn.Jian was born in Kugane, and lived there for most of his childhood years. When his father died in Doma, he was whisked away with his mother to live with her parents, where he was forced to adapt to Ala Mhigan culture, making him awkward and rather asocial as he was taken to the Emprise to become a monk instead of a trader, the Goldhalle family’s attempt to strip the child of his father’s influences. However, one day, he decided to skip his rigorous, physical lessons at the monastery to read a book under the shade of a tree, when a large army marched past him and burned the temple to the ground. Shocked and stunned, he ran back to his village to find his worried mother, who heard of the news.The destruction of the temple did not deter Goldhalle’s attempts to push Jian away from trade, forcing him to work in the quarry until one day, his mother gave him a cryptic message: “Flee to Eorzea if I do not return within three days”. Adelheid left him at home, and never returned. Hearing of the news that the mad king was overthrown and the Garlean empire overtook the city of Ala Mhigo, Jian took whatever he could keep in a knapsack, and he left Ala Ghanna.Soon, he was picked up by fleeing Ala Mhigans as they headed towards Thanalan, taking refuge in a series of caves in a canyon, which was soon established as Little Ala Mhigo. Tired, bored, and dissatisfied with his people’s stubborn pride and the Eorzean’s slow response to the refugee situation, he gathered up his remaining gil, and traveled to Limsa Lominsa. Right off the boat, he walked to the nearest building he could see, and requested incessantly to be their purser. The Assessors of Mealvaan’s Gate were surprised by the arrival of the young Ala Mhigan immigrant requesting for work, and so they brought him on board as a junior purser.
